Another stay at Plus Florence Hostel

Okay, so I’m writing about another stay at Plus Florence Hostel. You can tell I must really like this place.

I’ve stayed in a few hostels now across Europe, but one of my favourites has to be Plus Florence.  If I decide to visit again (very likely) it’ll be the first place I check for accommodation. Its location makes it the perfect place to stay since it’s quite central and not far from the main station.

As a mix between a hostel and a hotel, I decided to take a closer look to see what gives Plus Florence the essence and vibe of a hostel, blended with the feel and facilities of a hotel. Here’s some more about another stay at Plus Florence Hostel.

There are three buildings at Plus Florence which consist of dorms and double, triple and quad rooms.  Dorms tend to be four, six or eight-bedrooms with either bunks or single beds.

They all feature air conditioning and a private bathroom.  There’s a reading light for each bed and everyone gets assigned a locker. You’ll also get access to free Wi-Fi throughout the hostel.

For ladies
There are female dorms with a 4 or 6-bed configuration if you don’t want to stay in a mixed dorm. Bed linen and towels are included in these rooms and you’ll usually find a hairdryer too.

Standard rooms
The standard rooms at Plus Florence take the hostel accommodation up a few notches. On my first visit I stayed in a double room and I did the same again this time. It really does feel like you’re staying in a hotel.

Just like the dorms, private rooms have air conditioning. There’s an en-suite bath or shower, a TV, wardrobe and you’ll get linen and towels included.  Standards are either double or twin rooms.

Facilities

There are quite a few places to chill out at Plus Florence.  You can take a swim in the indoor or outdoor pool, de-stress in the sauna or relax in the Turkish bath.

There’s some gym equipment if you want a quick workout or you can play a game of pool. If you don’t fancy any of that, swing in one of the hammocks on the terrace.

Eating and drinking
The hostel has its own bar called Opera Florence which has happy hour between 11pm -12am. You can eat in the main dining area where you can get yourself a combo dinner special, or in the common room downstairs if you’ve bought your own food. If you have, remember to use the labels provided to add your name and check-out date

Before heading out to do tourist-like things, you can have breakfast for a few Euros. If you’re there during the summer you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner, but if you’re staying in winter you’ll only be able to get breakfast and dinner.

Location
Plus Florence is about a 15-minute walk away from Santa Maria Novella train station. It’s also not far from some of the main attractions such as the Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore, Academia and the Uffizi Gallery. Why not see what Plus Florence is all about if you’re looking for a really good place to stay that’s close to everything!
