The Sporades group is made up of over 20 islands but only four, Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos and Skyros, are inhabited. Each island has its own identity but between them they’re either known for their beaches, tradition, nature or nightlife. You can get to all of the Sporades islands by ferry from Volos or Thessaloniki and Kymi in the summer season, but you can also reach Skiathos by plane since it has an airport. Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos are located more closely together than Skyros, which is further east than its neighbours.
