If you’re looking for ways to spend your evening while in the city, here are 5 bars in Lisbon you should chill out in.
1. Sky Bar
1 of 5 bars in Lisbon
As the name suggests, Sky Bar can make you feel like you’re sky high.
On the 9th floor, Sky Bar is an open-air bar that’s on the roof of the Tivoli Avenida Liberdade Hotel. The ambiance was just right. I went in the late evening and although it was quite busy it still had a peaceful vibe – not too loud.

Once you’re out of the lift, follow the narrow walkway, descend the curved, thick white stairs and you’ll come to an open space with the the bar situated in the middle.
Location Sky Bar is set on the rooftop of Tivoli Hotel which is on Avenida da Liberdade.
Address Avenida da Liberdade 185 Hotel Tivoli Avenida Liberdade, 1250-141, Lisboa, Portugal.
2. Portas dos Sol
2 of 5 bars in Lisbon
The Portas dos Sol Bar makes for a nice pit stop if you’ve just been at the Miradouro Santa Luisa.
The best time to visit is after the lunch rush as you’ll probably be able to grab a table right near the front. From there, you’ll definitely have great best views as you sip a cocktail!
If you feel like unwinding a bit, there are more relaxing spaces further back with sofas and chairs.
Location It’s literally right next door to Miradouro Santa Luisa so you can look down on it from there, and by a car park (I’m seeing a theme here!).
Address Largo Portas do Sol, 1100-411, Lisboa, Portugal.
3. Park Bar
3 of 5 bars in Lisbon
Park Bar is situated at the top of a fully operational car park! Yes and if you don’t know where to look Yu may not find it.
It overlooks the 25 de Abril Bridge and is a popular place to watch the sunset so it’s busy most nights of the week.
Park has a very tropical vibe with large plants, decking, wooden tables and chairs, and dimmed lighting throughout. It has two bars. You need to get there quite early if you want a spot to watch the sunset – 4-5pm is a good time.
Location The entrance to Park Bar is on Travessa de André Valente – at the end of the street that turns onto Calçada do Combro. As you enter, immediately on your left-hand side you’ll see two doors – the first leads to stairs up to the bar (and other car park levels), while behind the other is a lift if you don’t want to climb the six flights of stairs to the bar.
Address A car parkjust off the main street Calçada do Combro.
4. 86 Eighty Six Cocktail Bar
4 of 5 bars in Lisbon
Playing mellow music with soft lighting, 86 Eighty-Six Cocktail Bar is in a lovely spot to get away from the crowds of the day. It was beautifully quiet when I visited.
The bar had only been open eight months when I visited and the owner, Ricardo, has created the perfect ambience. They sell a variety of cool cocktails, all of which have an editable feature.
Location 86 Eighty-Six Cocktail Bar is tucked away off Avenida da Liberdade – the busy Main Street that runs from the financial area to Rossio metro station.
TOPO Chiadao Bar was very lively. At night, TOPO Bar is more relaxed with low lights and soft background music blended with the hum of chatter.
TOPO has cool views of Castelo Sao Jorge and to the famous Santa Justa Lift.
The open-air bar has a lower level deck with lounge chairs and tables which are nice for relaxing in the sun. The main bar and seating area are on the level by the entrance, and the restaurant is located on an upper platform.
There was a mix of people ranging in age which I found nice. The dress code was smart-casual, and you’ll definitely want to take a light jacket, shawl or cardigan as it can get very breezy, especially if you’re on the upper deck at the restaurant.
Location Almost hidden, TOPO Chiado is neatly hidden away behind the Convento do Carmo ruins. It’s actually the second TOPO in the city – the other is near Praça Martim Moniz.
Address Terraços do Carmo, 1200-288 Lisboa, Portugal.
Make sure you stop by at least one or two of these five bars in Lisbon and tell me which you liked the most!
