If you’re looking for somewhere not far from the beach, but close to enough to the shops and bars, then spending a week at Kokkos Brothers in Kallithea, Halkidiki, is a good choice. You’ll be made to feel at home by the owners.
Located in the town of Kallithea, Kokkos Brothers Apartments offers 10 self-catering rooms and apartments for rent. Ranging in size from studios, one and two bedrooms and family apartments, there’s enough to choose from to suit your needs.
I chose a studio apartment on the top floor. It had views over the rooftops with the sea glistening in the distance. It was the perfect way to wake up every morning — such a beautiful backdrop.
Each apartment is fully equipped and has a separate kitchen area. You’ll find a small fridge, kettle, a couple of pots and pans, glasses and cutlery. There was also a single hotplate in my apartment to cook small meals on. The one thing you may want that’s not already in the room is an iron. All you have to do is ask and you’ll be provided with one quickly.
All of the apartments have air conditioning, a balcony and free WiFi access. There’s a terrace and garden area which guests can make use of too.
If you need transport from the airport or the city of Thessaloniki, the owners offer a paid shuttle service. You’ll just need to specify your arrival times in advance. If you’re flying in, you’ll also need to provide the flight number and landing time. Check-in time at the apartments is until 11.30pm.
During your stay, if you need to hire a car there’s enough parking outside as well as on some of the nearby side streets. I never had a problem finding parking at all during my stay, which was good.
I loved my stay at Kokkos Brothers. I’d be happy to stay there again if I was ever in Kallithea. It would make a good base for a longer stay as well. All of the family and staff were friendly and very helpful – nothing was too much trouble. They also had good advice on things to see and do in and around the area.
You’ll find Kokkos Brothers off the main street, Epar. Od. Paliouriou-Afitou.
